The question people most often ask is what inspires you?

Well, the answer is almost anything and everything.  I have a love of walking.  It is amazing what sights you see travelling through countryside or by the coast - a bird-covered tree in a field, a rusty field gate, a dry-stone wall, a field of oil-seed rape, footprints in the sand, a shadow on a lake.  All these memories can filter back to the studio and the paintings.  I also love literature, poetry and music, all of which can provide inspiration for either starting or finishing a painting.

More than anything I love colour.  I really want paintings to be drenched in colour.
